If we get any type of result it will be a fantastic achievement. Our players will not be at their level of development for a few seasons. Principally because they have bought some expensive mature players - while our players are a bunch of young lads. If Leeds don’t get to the Premier - as seasons go by Leeds will have to spend big just to stand still. By that time Barnsley should have a powerful set of players. So while watching the match ....... just keep in mind that we have new owners and this is the start of the journey with them.
In fairness I'm not sure a Championship club sold as many this summer as Leeds. Did well to retain Phillips who is the glue that holds it together. But they sold loads and most of their better players are young or brought in from abroad. You've just described Leeds as though they're Fulham buying big names for the level.
No doubt they have stepped back from where they were last season. But there is still some Championship experienced players in there. While we have more or less wiped the slate clean and started all over again with new owners and a new recruitment policy. What I’m saying here - same as I said after the Wednesday match - is that our fans have to realise where we are in the scheme of things. It will be great if we get a result - but if we don’t - then it’s no call to be pessimistic.
Oh absolutely. I can't see beyond an away win tomorrow and I'm not sure I'd think differently no matter our squad. But I thought we'd lose in 2006, 2010, 2011 and 2013 too. A win would be the fillip we need but I agree fans need to relax tomorrow because we aren't really competing with Leeds.
Fingers crossed - tha reyt !!! But if we don’t - let’s not have a barrage of negativity on here. Negativity ..... it’s something I cannot abide.
Most if not all fans know we are in for a very hard game and there's a good chance we could lose. If that happens with the team having given there all there will be no negativity. If we lose with the same kind of performance that we put on against luton then im sure there will be lots of negativity.
Interstesting post. Will be a tough game, we have a lot of ex Leeds players in our team. Will be a local derby. Could be more interesting I think, I'm not massively hopeful myself. 2-2 maybe. Boris Johnson won't be giving a **** about the outcome. You can go and have a brief **** over him & Rees Mogg at half time over a bovril.
