Should they be abolished? Evidently Conway ,Murphy,Zuc and Stendel are all liars so whats the points. They've explained transfer policy, the way and how they want the club to develop and the quality of the players they have brought in.I'm not that naïve to not think some spin is involved in certain questions. Although some aren't happy with what they've had to say they have never deviated from there plans or intentions from day one.Its down to supporters to either back there plans or not.
I do Q&A with our customers all the time. Everything I say is to the knuckle the truth, whether that highlights my mistakes or not. Why would you want to back someone who is the custodian of something you love if you believe they are spinning a tale? It's not the way of the world, not in my life.
Why is signing someone on a free knee jerk all of a sudden? We've done well with them for the 100+ years these owners weren't here. I think younger a players would develop quicker if they had 2-3 older heads around them who they could learn from. Did they think a multi million pound signing would sign in the same wage bracket as the rest of our squad? I could have told them that wouldn't happen. Skirted the issue like a politician. A straight no would have been enough. So if Moore wanted to leave for so long as appears the case, why wasn't this problem rectified so not to rely solely on someone who's had bad injuries in the past? Just say no and be straight with the fans. We played experience by playing him, was able to trust him to do a good job and he's wrongly been dropped since. Worrying that such a small percentage of fans pay full price. Hopefully it pays off in years to come. What are they doing to discourage it apart from telling fans to stop? We should have seen photos of culprits posted to track down or articles about banning orders being handed out. I think we've been too weak on this and it's gone on long enough. Not in a hurry to say we didn't are they? Yeah recent loan players like Harvey Barnes and Oli McBurnie brought nothing to the team. Loans can add to the squad just like free transfers do. Not every loan needs to be with view to permanent. Sometimes we can strengthen our team with someone we've no chance of ever signing. Vague again to if it will be complete in three years or it's three years time work will begin on it. Completing this within six months was mentioned when they bought the club. Well it's only a year of the prediction so far. It doesn't seem Daniel has much say at all. I suspect to get him to sign a new contract one of his conditions might be that he wants to be more heavily involved.
Do you need me to highlight the relevant part of that summary? It looks like because that's not what it said and it's not what Dane Murphy said: Don’t rule out free agents as we’re always exploring ways to improve the squad Not really. You've only read a summary and someones interpretation of what he said. Why would No be a better than the full answer. He thinks the players can be better than we had previously but they need plenty of time and really could have done with keeping the likes of Pinnock/Lindsay/Davies to provide the experience and so we aren't starting again from scratch. Mistakes get punished and due to the age of our squad we will make plenty. Paul Conway wasn't there to answer this so there's why it was vague. They don't own the ground yet so I doubt we'll see serious investment in the ground until that is the case. They are putting plans together and it is something that they have talked about a lot. At least 4 of our team are his players is my understanding so he does get some say. He said he knew the model before he came so he can't be too critical. I think it will take some assurances that he doesnt have to start from scratch each season because all his best players have been sold will be whats required to get him to sign a new contract. That's obviously a big frustration but hardly a surprise to us.
I found it a very interesting evening and thank the three gentlemen for their time and their honesty.
It is a proffesional touch to engage the fan base regularly like this and answer questions. Something Patrick Cryne did and these guys (like them or not) have carried on. My big worry is that we took money for Pinnock in the way we did and imho, didnt realise his worth, like Luton did and like posh do with their players.
If people feel that negatively about bfc then simply stop going and find another hobby. It wouldn’t make one iota of difference to the rest of us, the players, coaching staff or the board in fact once all the usual booboys **** off there will be a better atmosphere for the young squad to develop. Negativity will do nothing between now and January whereas positive support may help these players out especially in times when they’re up against it. Of course it’s your money and you can continue to do as you please but if I had a hobby that I had to constantly bleat, whine and moan about, I’d simply stop doing it.
Criticising the way the club is run has nothing to do with supporting the team in my opinion. In fact I’d guess that most people who criticise the way the club is been run are more understanding towards the tough season the players face than fans who ignore the issues we face & just cheer or boo based on what they see on the pitch. I’ll continue to support the team but I’ll also continue to criticise the way the club is run if I feel like they’re making mistakes & I hope everyone else does the same.
Couldn't disagree with this more. The support in the second half on Saturday was superb and Stendel praised that last night at the Q&A. Considering Rob Zuk also stated how important ticket income is to our overall revenue, I think the last thing we need to be doing is discouraging fans from coming to games. Yes there's a toxic feel in the air online, but I didn't feel that last night at the meeting (c. 80 Barnsley Fans, the Head Coach, the CEO, the Finance Director) and despite the boos at half time the fans got behind the team second half. With 10,000 plus fans in one area you'll always get some negativity. What's important is that anyone venting their frustrations does so outside of the minutes being played on the pitch.
Did any of the questions Red Rain asked get answered...... http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/this-tuesday-q-a-with-stendel-zuk-murphy.282896/#post-2341755 Preferably...... Be interesting to know that happened.
Yes it was. The answer was pretty quick so I couldn’t post it on Twitter but @Gally has the notes on that one. Was basically said that it’s a common and standard practice.
[@Gally has the notes on that one. Was basically said that it’s a common and standard practice.[/QUOTE] It was simply an overdraft facility to bridge any short term gaps created by player trading during the window.
