    tom pearce transfer 136 comments almost all saying good luck, he’s down the pecking order etc...

    Clarke Odour 271 comments almost everyone saying he was brill for u23’s and are baffled by the sale and one for future

    Makes you wonder if Tom Pearce was ever in serious contention...did we want to sign both??

    Pearce was the main target mate but from what Leeds fans are saying I'm much happier with Odour.

    I think it might help if you temper your absolute statements e.g. "Pearce was the main target" into something like "my mate told me etc.."

    Cos your mate is obviously in the know, but not 100% reliable.

    We've all got our sources but I've been reliably told Pearce wasn't ever a serious target just one we looked at. Odour was linked and had been watched before the season ended so it wasn't a case of one over the other.

    Likely our #1 target for LB is still at his club and we'll be back in January. Unless I'm adding two plus two and getting five.

    If you read stuff about how the club targets players - what they do is decide what position needs strengthening and then they look at several players that could fill that position.
    From that list 3 are chosen and then the club tries to bring in one out of the 3.

    Thanks for the input, I think hes got 2 wrong in the last 3 years. So yeah, suppose you're right hes not 100%. I think hes as close as you can get, mind.

    I think you're right with what you are saying there if I'm honest pal. What I mean by our main target was that he was our 'most wanted' out of what was available.

    Possibly mate. But despite Nixon and the likes saying we had a deal lined up we'd never agreed a fee for him.

    Aye it was a strange one. RS reporting the deal was close, Yorkshire post saying it was never likely. Nixon said it was all but done, then Ian Loud (mirror) said it wouldn't happen and then phillip haye came out late last night and said dont rule Barnsley out just yet, more to come...

    Made to sound like a real cat and mouse situation but if your mate is right then it sounds like it was never likely. Proper deadline day stuff.

    Glad it's over though.

    Maybe the journos got the LBs confused they knew we'd made an enquiry about Pearce and when they got information saying we were signing a LB from Leeds wrongly assumed it was Pearce when actually it was Odour or maybe Pearces agent was stirring the pot using us to get Wigan to up their offer to Pearce.. Who knows who cares going on the Leeds Fans reactions we've signed the best one of the two so happy days.

    I’m confused as to the length of contract here, seen some comments we’ve tied him down to 4 years. Sky yesterday reported it was a two year deal.
