….....he must have some gravitas to him, to be picked.

He has often has been known to lose possession in dangerous circumstances, and try fancy flicks that tend to drive the coach mad when they don't come off.

He's also maddeningly inconsistent. Not your usual choice for the armband.

Would have thought one of our new centre backs - especially Mads - might have got the job.

    Anyway, it went well today!

Goal was set up by Bahre & he should have scored. I think the team is built round him. I agree with your noted critique of much of last season. Think he has a level of class that could be about to really show itself. We'll see I guess. He was DS's first signing.

That pass over the top to Thomas was sublime, would have been some goal of his first touch had been a bit better

He’s fast becoming my favourite player.
I’m pretty sure that Championship centre halves would sooner be up against someone like Keiffer Moore than someone as elusive as Bahre.

What a talent we gave with him. His close control and skill is out of this world.

If his end product “clicks” then he’ll make us a lot of money. Was it something daft like £175K we paid for him? Looks like it could be one of the best bargains we’ve ever had.

Who gives a toss about how much money we make?

There are dozens on here who seem obsessed with the idea that we should go and support the team for the purpose of seeing our players increase in transfer value.

Can't we enjoy them just as footballers?

And his game is more suited to the Champ too.

I thought the post was about the choice to make him captain? I think that’s odd. But regardless of who has the armband, it’s pretty clear that McGeehan is the one who drives them on and takes the responsibility for doing so.
The entire Midfield were outstanding today.

Mmm......there's something not quite right about "he's had a good game - he'll be worth more now".

When Forest went up and then won the top league it would have been odd to stop and muse upon how much the players were worth.

We could (in my dreams) be Forest.

We watch the team cos we want them to win as much as possible.

Not so we can take pride in how much we sold a player for.

Our job is to moan when we've got rid of players we like. And about the price. Not say "nice goal Cauley - you're now worth an extra £100k" while they're still here.

He was the best player on the park 1st half by a mile made Fulham look like lower league opposition. He’s far from the finished article enjoy him whilst he’s here playing like that he’ll attract a lot of attention this season.

I don't disagree with any of that, but seeing players come in, improve & adapt & sadly eventually move on is what we are all about as a football club. We always have been. Sometimes we are better run than other times, but that rule remains true.

Bahre looked much more at his level today. He picked out a pass, second half, for Thomas (I think) that was absolute quality.

I’ve criticised him at times, so hats off to him today.

I think Barhe will mature more with being captain.
He didn’t give the ball away half as much in this game as he did on lots of occasions last year .
Maybe a Masterstroke by our genius of a coach .

We have a collection of talented young players mostly on long contracts that seem to have an amazing team spirit, who knows where we will end up, feeling optimistic here.
