But he only has 3 or 4 years left to earn this kind of money. Beyond that he's going to be a bloke with no qualifications. If you were offered 3 years at 1m a week at 29 to toss it off against borderline amateurs or retirement you'd be an idiot to choose retirement

I think he’s settled in Madrid and his family don’t want to move but £1m a week I’d play in Sheffield for that never mind China

Really? Hes got enough money to live wherever he chooses, why go somewhere to earn money that you and your children are never going to spend? I cant get my head round it but I suppose if money is your God then you'd go wherever

He has for now, but he's going to live another 40 years with a fraction of the earning potential he has now. If he wants to secure living in the manner to which he has become accustomed it's an easy choice.

China’s got grinding poverty, especially in the rural areas but it has cities to rival London and Paris for the good life that’s for sure.

Not if I already had earned more than enough money I wouldn't.

I'm not disagreeing that China would be an interesting place to go if you wanted but to go solely for money doesn't make sense when you already have earned more than you could spend.

One million pound is an obscene amount of money for kicking a bag of wind around.
Fair play to him for bagging that contract anyone would sign that contract but if it goes wrong I won't shed a tear.
No wonder the common folk are falling out of love for the professional game.

Not sure where this idea comes from about him refusing to adapt to Spanish life and failing to learn the language. I remember his 1st press conference when he signed for Madrid and he spoke in Spanish. Hard to believe he hasn't picked the language up at all.

Maybe it is exaggerated but as far as I know he hasn't denied it?

He also hasn't denied being a neo-nazi but I'd fancy a guess that he's not one.

His team mates who know him have claimed he can't speak Spanish. If they had also suggested he was a nazi you may have had a point.

Was saying to wife last night I cannot imagine what one can possibly do with a million pounds per week.
It ends up just being numbers in a bank account and totally meaningless.
If he hasn't got enough money from being in Spain then it's heaven help him. And he surely isn't going to come out with the usual claptrap that he's always wanted the challenge of playing in China. I would never believe it.

The problem is if you go to China your careers over as far as the rest of the world is concerned.

I remember Oscar & Ramires going there years ago & that’s the last I’ve heard of them. I could be wrong but don’t think they get a look in for the national side.

Article I've read suggests he's not really mastered the language. Doesn't appear to be popular at the
Club either. Ex- Spurs player Dembele who plays in China, says it will suit Bale. Lowest temperatures
23 degrees and highest are around the 30's, so his kids spend their time in the pool he has at his home.
For a million a week, playing golf and football would be tolerable for three years or so. He'd be daft not
    to try it.

Sounds like the start of an internet conspiracy...." team mates refuse to confirm or deny Bale Neo Nazi affiliations...what are they hiding"....an anonymous Barcelona source said
" he could have signed for us, but instead chose to sign for a team once funded and supported by the Franco regime...people need to ask why"

Didn’t realise you’d got access to his bank account.
