It took me a while to realise but all these countless political threads do is serve as one big arena to release whatever frustrations said poster is having that particular day on an anonymous fellow poster. Nobody changes their mind, people get abusive... completely pointless. Crack one out instead, you get the same release but with a happy ending
It's the Trump playbook through and through. An off the cuff remark to gain laughs and even support from certain individuals, followed by the stock denial and plea about being "taken out of context". The intelligence of the man strongly suggests that those remarks were no accidental slip. They belie his inclinations and I think he knew what he was doing.
I think it's a more credible sign of intelligence when someone does it from a working class background than a position of incredible privilege, with all the tutors and bribes in the world available to you.
Technically true, because he doesn't have one. But in all seriousness are you using the fact that he says he isn't racist as evidence that he isn't racist?
tad disrespectful here orsenkaht! I voted to leave not because I live in the past but because I fear for our future as part of an organisation which is becoming increasingly nationalistic and fragmented. Look at the influence of Putin on the Eastern countries of the EU. We, the leavers are as intelligent as the Remainers, we have considered things as much everyone else, we haven't been brainwashed any more than Remainers. But what we the leavers show is a lot more respect towards the remainers than is happening vice versa.
Point 1 is something i wished more people would latch onto here. On both sides there will be stupid people and intelligent people, and both sets of people will have voted for what they voted for because of what they were told or what they believed in. point 2 is a bit hazy for me mate, i've seen a lot of disrespect thrown towards the remainers from the leavers. I'm not saying it's 50/50 but it's more equal then what you're saying.
Individually you may be, but as a group that's unlikely to be true https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...leave-eu-remain-voters-educated-a7881441.html
I blame William the Conqueror. That Tory ba*tard started it, all that Harrowing of the North. An stuff.
Not really, I was just making the point that whilst there are obviously intelligent people on both sides the fact that you made a careful, informed decision doesn't mean that everyone did.
Mmm a post declaring he’s not defending Boris then goes on an all out offensive to defend him . #borisisracistetc
No disrespect implied, Mr Red-Taff - it was a tongue in cheek remark. Not sure I understand what you mean about the EU becoming more 'nationalistic' though? And if it's more fragmented, then I thought the complaint of many leave voters was that it was becoming too integrationist? I wouldn't want to rehash the whole argument but I can't for the life of me see how it can benefit us to leave an institution where we have an equal voice, and are part of a 550M population/$16 Trillion GDP trading bloc to become a 65M/$2.5 Trillion one. We will be Trump's stooges (see the ambassador row) and will not be able to deal advantageously with both America and China. But much of the leave campaign was based about the past - "regaining" our sovereignty? Fact is, the world is different now.
I won't lie to you i couldn't think of anyone older then William the Conqueror so i picked Jesus out of thin air without thinking it through. I expect to face the wrath of Labour Jesus today at some point now.
