I consider myself liberal and agree with you on most things, but the fact is we don't know enough to determine if it was an appropriate response. We haven't heard all the facts, plus you have to bear in mind that the issue is being tried in the context of a system where it is assumed that the use of firearms can be a proportionate and appropriate response to danger. I strongly disagree with that, but nevertheless it is the context of the decision. Any proper legal system should start from a presumption of innocence but you appear to be starting with a presumption of guilt and asking people to prove the opposite when that isn't where the burden of proof should lie.
Thanks for defending me - I think - but if he wants to block me I'm fine with that. I haven't abused him. All I have done is challenge him on his opinions which he cannot back up. If you put an opinion on a public forum you should expect to be challenged. If his response is to block people that says it all.
Never said you had abused me . I just think you are a total lovely personk in general . You pursue matters to ridiculous lengths often making arguments and exacerbating them when they don’t actually exist to make them fit your over inflated self opinion, ( like people can’t have an opinion without 100%proof) even in your ridiculously negative BFC related football posts I’ve never blocked anybody except you, never felt the need, and I haven’t even got round to that yet
I can't take what I believe to be barbaric laws into consideration. On here we're giving a moral judgement not a legal one. There are many laws that I believe to be immoral. I don't believe an appropriate response is to shoot someone. The fact that US law allows for this doesn't, in my view, make it right. I'm legally allowed to shoot someone so I did is not a defence in my opinion. It may be legal in the country it took place but that doesn't make it right, moral or appropriate.
In my opinion if we take this line then we're saying that stoning women in Saudi is OK because it's part of the law there. My inner morality doesn't change depending on the country I'm in and shooting someone is not right whether I'm in Birmingham Alabama or Birmingham West Midlands.
Is it a lengthy process blocking people then? You made a comment based on no evidence whatsoever. I asked you to back it up. You haven't. End of conversation.
So we don't have to back up our opinions these days? Useful to know. But if we don't have to back them up with anything what are we basing them on the first place? Most confusing. Anyway we're banging our heads against the wall. I'll just remember to take your opinions with a massive pinch of salt in the future.
You can bet this would never happen to a white person. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...mical-endangerment-pregnancy-amanda-kimbrough
