Some pretty damning comments on there. I had to remind myself which Division they were in and which Keif was playing in. To describe him as a big striker who we lump balls up to, shows a degree of ignorance i’ve not heard since listening to Ian Holloway on Quest. Quite deluded.
Reading some of that you'd think they were on their way home from Wembley rather than getting set for a season in League One.
To be fair, it's only similar to the shock we expressed when Jonathan Walters or Chris Wood started interesting Premier League sides,as both had looked absolutely dreadful in their short careers with us. Young players develop with experience, especially strikers for whom awareness is such a key part of their game, and some develop pretty late. For what it's worth, I also have doubts as to whether Kieffer will be able to make the step up. Fingers crossed he will.
Looking forward to him.proving them wrong and helping us get 6 points off them next season. He may not be the best footballer but ges prepared to work hard and improve and tfat to me is a better quality in our team than technical ability alone
For Mick McCarthys sake, I'm pleased they took our place in League One in time for next season. After he managed to keep them up season after season, he got dogs abuse towards the end of his time there. What they fail to realise is, that a player is only as good as those around him. You can't really expect one player to stand out in isolation every game, he needs support from team mates. Keiffers big advantage is his height of course. Maybe Giggs will play him as an "old style " Centre forward or goal " lagger", who is supplied with either low or high crosses to simply try to shoot or Head towards the oppositions goal. If we get the right additions , I think the lad could do OK, that's if he stays of course.
if he can work on his finishing and put a higher percentage of his chances away than he did the last time around he will be ok - but he missed chance after chance last time.
His confidence must be higher and that's important for a striker . Hope we hit the ground running to.keep it high.
Considering he made less than 180 mins in substitute appearances alone they're pretty keen on rubbishing him.
I really hope he goes on to score 15 plus goals this season. He has come on leaps and bounds since we bought him and he probably feels he has a point to prove this time round.
This is the thing.....the majority of them were calling for MM to go Not exactly demonstrating that they know what they’re talking about when it comes to association football Surprised by how so many of them have managed to form a solid view on Kieffer after so few appearances. Anyway it matters not, he’s come on leaps and bounds. Questionable whether he will prove himself in the championship but I think he’s capable, and critically he will make space for others; he’s a nightmare to defend against.
Hes a cracking player. The type weve always seem to miss out on. I agree he will be better for dropping down a league and boosting his confidence. He just an awkward so and so, and i can guarantee no centre half would relish playing against him. I can remember when we played Shrewsbury at home on his comeback, the centre half pairing were strutting about with cigars out until he came on. They bobbed their pants when he came on, they had to resort to constantly pulling him down in the box and getting away with it. I reckon he'll get 15+ next season if he stays with us and stays fit.
