I like the idea of the window closing nearer to the start of the season. The sooner, the better.

Makes it a much bigger advantage to go up automatically than through the play-offs you'd think.

I don't think our Board will be fazed by having to have our business done by the 8th August.
They appear to be very organised. Paul Conway has already said that they have already got a
"wish list ". They have acted very quickly at the end of this season, by offering
the players that they and Daniel want to retain , new and hopefully improved contracts. Although not yet published, they surelymust also know who they will be releasing. We've already speculated that Isgrove, Jackson and Hedges might well be on that particular list, the latter two, probably at their own request.? Once it becomes clear that a player that we would have liked to keep , wants to leave, very quickly, I would hope, their replacement from "the list," will be brought in, so that Daniel is able to work with them and the remaining squad members in order that they are able to be integrated and become used to how DS wants them to play. It will be interesting to see, that if as widely speculated ,Davies does move on, who from those players that remain, will be given the skippers armband. I don't know about anyone else, but I much prefer an outfield player to do the job. Someone in the thick of the action that can lead by example and gee the players up as and when it's required. Butland is wanted by Palace and Bournemouth, so if Adam Davies does go to Stoke as his replacement, he surely must do so with our collective thanks for his loyal committment for the time he has played for us.?
