It's being investigated by the police, so it will take a while and they'll probably not send out any information until they've finished their investigation.
I’m honestly not that arsed, because I doubt he’ll get what he actually deserves. He’s been shown up, again, for what he is. Anything else he gets I fear it won’t be what we would expect. I’d love him to be sent down or whatever but I’d imagine smart lawyers will negotiate downgraded charges and would get him a fine and community payback - which he’d do some coaching of kids to cover - even if convicted. Won’t notice it, and just another conviction to put on the family mantelpiece. It would also be nice if he was out of football -but if Fleetwood had any moral compass they’d have got rid already - he can officially deny assault and whatever else is charged but people at the club know exactly what happened. So a criminal conviction wouldn’t serve to do much. Maybe if he was convicted the fa might impose a ban, we can only hope.
I dont see how the fa can turn a blind eye and at the same time go on about fans behaviour. As I understand it at some time this month Barton is back at the police station as per his bail conditions. What happens next we shall have to wait and see.
He was bailed to appear at the police station on a certain date in May...I can't remember which. That's when he will be charged if he's going to be.
