We've never really been a winner on the last day of the season, seen too many defeats. If we had to go to Bristol to win then our past history might plague us. But the current set of players and Stendel might do otherwise... I hope !
Given that fate is a lady I was wondering how she could be tempted? Any ideas? As regards counting chickens I would guess the whole process is automated now and doesn't require any human input.
Really?? I've seen us win at Walsall (2006) and Wigan (2016) to make playoffs, plus Hudds to stop up in last 5 mins. Didn't we also win at Plymouth on last day to stay up a decade or so ago? In fact Derby last season was only time I remember last day going against us. But, I tend to be pretty good at wiping negatives and remembering positives, so I've probably conveniently forgotten some days!
We did get hammered 7-0 against West Brom, and a forgivable 5-1 loss to Oxford when the players had been on the piss all week in '97.
I think KFC was recalling games which meant something. The defeats you mention were after the season effectively ended for us, although the WBA defeat did mean things for teams around them in the playoff spots.
Sod ifs buts and maybes. Lets just win and go up. If Luton are Champions does it really matter in the big scheme of things as long as we get promoted.
If we get promoted at another club's ground, that's a first in my lifetime. We have either made things mathematically certain at home or won the Playoffs at the national stadium in the past.
