Last season under Jose it emerged that the players had a meeting without the manager ,the conspiracy theorists were out in force.Lyndsay has just said in his interview the players have had a meeting without the manager this week.In my view both meetings were on merit for opposite reasons. One to avoid relegation one to try and get promotion.I'm quite sure there'll be no outcry this time round but does it show double standards from some supporters.?

Possibly, although I've heard that last season the players were meeting because the manager wasn't giving them instructions in games like who to mark etc and they were sorting that stuff out. If that was the case then I think that's a problem. But I wasn't there so can't say for certain. If it was just a case of motivating one another and it's the same this time, I view it as a good thing, on both occasions.

If true I'd say the meeting last season was down to them taking some control of things themselves because Morais seems to have been an utter fruit loop.
This season I'd imagine it's to reinforce the bond and gee themselves up a bit.
It would be interesting to know exactly what went on during the reign of Mourinho's cone superintendent.

I was told in one meeting Morais got on all fours and pretended to be a lion.

The players thought he was almost as mental as young nudger.

Has the manager been around this week. He wasn't at training or the awards ceremony by the looks?

Interesting point. Changing subject slightly. Didn't Mourinho have a similar problem with Luke Shaw at Man Utd. He was sick of constantly telling him where to be positionally during matches. He was the professional footballer, things like that should have come naturally. Maybe Morais was using the same thinking with our players? They're professional footballers they should know who to mark.

I heard that on this website but was told he was a sheep. Urban myth or based on truth. Could be a case of chinese whispers???But if indeed it is partial true . I can understand why he lost the dressing room.

I don't think it's anything like the one last season. Nothing to worry about the players all speak highly of stendel.

Just curious as to why they have a meeting .
If there’s things they can’t say in front of manager then imo summits up.

All clubs have meetings like this btw.

It’s completely normal. I even use them in my job from time to time.

It’s a chance for the team to get together and think of solutions. It’s hardly ever to slag someone off, so I find it interesting that some people automatically think it is.

There’s a psychology case study in there somewhere.

He probably only just looked a bit sheepish.

At which point Davies and Hedges were jostling for first dibs on mounting him.

I said last year that most players will have these meetings from time to time and that it was quite healthy to air a few opinions .I was soon shot down by the conspiracy theorists.

I think a prayer meeting would have been better with Morais in charge. BELIEVE.

Can remember John Terry saying how they locked themselves in at Chelsea and had a team meeting with no Management after a poor start to a season to thrash out a few home truths
