    Positives

    • The fans - another sold out away end backing the lads till the last seconds
    • We got a rare penalty - even if academically it meant sod all
    • Davies made a couple of good saves to keep the score down.
    • Saved a fiver on parking by getting there early and finding a street
    Negatives
    • Aimless lobbed balls down the channels every 10 seconds. The amount of times we gave the ball away doing this was insane.
    • Set pieces and balls into the box in general - awful mostly. Pinnock and Lindsay, as strong as they are in the air defensively, pose about as much threat as I would from our corners.
    • Woodrow going out wide all the time, then quelle surprise when there's no-one to play the ball to in the box - get in the area you silly man.
    • Loose balls - second to so, so many. Probably one of the only times this season where I didn't see the effort or desire to win every ball. I don't know why that happened today.

Have to say Burton looked a decent side, Harness was their standout player and tormented our left flank.

    Overall verdict: *****/10

3 out of the 4 negatives are solved by having Moore in the team.

The aimless lobbed balls had a target when he was on the pitch, pluf for the defence it was an easy get out if they couldn't find a simple pass or they were in trouble which helped us out massively at the back and with our style of play. You remove Moore from that equation and don't change what you're doing then nobody is going to get those balls and that means the other team come flying back at you on the attack.

Set pieces is an obvious one, Moore was a big threat from corners and set pieces.

Woodrow going out wide all the time is because he's not getting the supply he wants in order to score goals, so he's drifting deeper to pick the ball up. Coming deeper and going wider was Moores job as you could see perfectly when he scored that hattrick against Rochdale(?) two of the goals he started in a wide position.

Plus points would be it was easy for parking, it had a good pub near to the ground and it's another game where management/board can see that if we go up there are very few good enough to start games next season.

One positive is Sunderland have to play them in midweek.

Here's hoping they put as much effort as they did today.

They’ll be knackered after the shift they put in today. Bet they don’t replicate that against the Mackems.....

They hadn't played for a few weeks before today apparently and maybe that was a factor, but to be fair to them, they are normally hard to beat.
