Was thinking the same. Another who enjoyed his best days at Oakwell. I understand the lure of more money but wonder if it compensates for the lack of regular games and being quickly moved on when it doesn’t work out. Still wish the best for him though and thought he served us well.
He found his level with us, never the most pleasing on the eye but was a willing runner . Im guessing but he cant have played more than 20 games over the last 2 years. Probably being paid 15k a week for the pleasure .
It works for some (hourihaine) fails for others (hammill howard butterfield watkins etc) spoils a promising career but helps the bank balance.... last i heard bristol fans dint rate him at all
Always liked watkins worked hard when winnall went and Conor he was one of the few who kept scoring for the last half of the season but wanted out when he saw his mates wages quadruple. He was a no lose gamble for Norwich they got his for nowt didn't work out moved him on and isn't working at Bristol.
28 appearance for Norwich 17 for Bristol City, although I'm not sure how many starts. 3 goals. Courtesy of soccerbase.
Spent all his time since he left us in the championship hasn't he? Which is better than we have fared since.
Didn't know that, still being paid championship wages I'd guess. Point was he hasn't done any worse by leaving us.
The Brian Howard situation made me laugh. Legend status at oakwell, ruined that by tantrumming to dem blunts and then making creep cameos down oakwell thinking we'd give him a warm welcome back. Another snake
