Just watched it back a few times and the Southend player definitely moves his leg so it's not as clear cut as I first thought. I can't see him getting a retrospective red.

He does see the red mist a few times. Definitely got a nasty streak in him

    I love how that works.
    - Ref misses an accidental stamp. Player can still be punished.
    - Ref misses a skull fracturing elbow, but gives a yellow card because reasons. FA are out shopping.

    Jostling for position.

You're absolutely spot on though. Simple explanation - the FA are a set of tw*ts and not fit for purpose.

Surely if it's not clear cut he has to be given the benefit of doubt and given that the player moved his leg you can't say 100%deliberate?

Let's hope when the FA see it back they don't see it as deliberate and ban him. Don't want him missing alongside Brown and Moore.

I agree the guy moved his leg in the way, no case to answer in a split second like that.

He shook the Southend player's hand, who seemed to accept it by shaking it back. I think the Southend player knew that he had moved his leg and that McGeehan hadn't anticipated that he would. in slow motion, everything looks deliberate!! I can't get over some of the daft judgements even experienced commentators make about very marginal incidents.

He barely touched him ,surely if there there was intent there would have been heavier contact

Brilliant assist from McGeehan for our first goal. He really put his back into it and made it easy for the scorer.

Third best midfielder we’ve had this generation behind Hourihane and Bronwhill. Like those two will go on to play in the Premier League.

Ah sorry I wasn't clear. I watched it back when it was replayed on Sky. I don't know if it's in the highlights.

Watched it back several times initially when I first saw it thought it may have been intentional but on reflection completely accidental. No force and shook players hand after apologising.

If he’s been charged surely they’ve made up their mind it’s deliberate (I’m not saying it was). Arguing can only lead to an extended punishment I would think.

To me his eyes are on the ball the whole time. The Southend player moves his leg to where Cameron is trying to land. I'd contest it. Sunderland and Pompey have both successfully contested similar charges this season.

That angle makes it look better than it is, in my opinion.

The camera cut takes the edge out of the force with which his feet stamped down.
