Yes, just googled it, RIU's are fantastic, Enjoy matey. Been to RIU Penisular at Zone Hotela, fantastic
I just read the thread title and imagined you boxing up a dead bluebottle and posting it to Cancun on Monday, for some reason...
Went to the Riu Tequila about 15 years ago. One of the best holidays we ever had, although I’m pretty sure all of the hotels will have been refurbished since then... Riu hotels are great. Only (minor) downside was loads of loud Americans. Best thing: the row of optics in the bathroom. You could sit on the bog and pour yourself a tequila.
Stayed at the Riu Cancun. Best all inclusive hotel I’ve been to by a country mile, and could use the other riu hotel nearby if we wanted
Our first trip to Me-hee-co last summer and I can honestly say I loved it. We were on Atlantic side at Tulum, a few miles down the coast from Playa Del C. Superb hotel, but it was the people who made it for me. They could not do enough for you, and after the disaster and culture shock that was Sharm El Sheikh, these people restored my faith in human beings. If you get a chance to do XEL-HA (natural theme park) do it, one of the best family days out we ever had. Enjoy
We've stayed there twice and realy enjoyed it. There's another 6 RIU hotels, all in walking distance from each other that you can use aswell. Make sure to book the speciality restaurants early as they can get booked up quickly.
Been to the Yucatan 4 times, Playacar is a great place to be based. RIU hotels in Playacar are all top barring Lupita. Make sure you do plenty of trips. If you get the chance visit Puerto Adventura and go on the Fat Cat catamaran. Owners are from Worksop, brilliant snorkelling with turtles and sting rays. Plus all the rum you can drink in 3 hour trip. Also visit Tulum ruins, get there early using local buses, the beach is amazing. Lovely town as well with fabulous seafood restaurants.
