Let’s hope with the gift aid (£286 at mo) you can reach £2000 in total. Well done lad. Great amount at mo.
Evening all! Some of you have asked about timings of the walk, so here is the plan for Tuesday: Leaving Empire Road, Sheffield: (9.40am) 4.1miles to Hillsborough (10.55am) 2 miles to house of elliott, Penistone Road (11.30am) 4.7 miles to Tankersley/M1 (1pm) 4.9 miles to oakwell (arrive: 2.40pm) Tomorrow I'll be doing 24 miles, from Wirksworth to Empire Road, Nether Edge. I'll continue to post updates on JustGiving here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/luke-whewall If anyone wants to join me at any point, please let me know! The more the merrier! Thanks again for all the support, Luke
Legs are okay actually! It's the blisters I'm most bothered about. Those peak district hills were unforgiving! Not sure if you know that 'House of Eliot' on Penistone Road by the way? Just saw it on google maps. It's in Grenoside so a good marker if you still want to join! Would be great to have some company! Only so many horses and sheep you can say ey up to before you start to feel a bit daft! Haha
Go Luke, just put a donation through - will look out for you on the route in tomorrow, you going straight up Park Road and Sheffield Road?
Right, I've just sorted it. I'll join you for a couple of miles tomorrow morning from Hillsborough to Grenoside. Would have liked to do more, but got a few commitments in the afternoon.
Just walked a couple of miles with Luke from Hillsboro to Grenoside. He’s in good shape and is heading towards High Green / Tankersley. Members of his family have joined the walk. Anyone driving through his route down the A 61 give him a wave.
Ahh so you met my Auntie and I'm assuming my cousin/his brother Josh? Really hoping I finish work early enough to be able to drive up, really want to see him
I met his Mum and Dad. I’ve been trying to persuade him to go in Redfearns as it sounds as though there are a few ready to buy him a pint, and it would help the fundraising.
Oh fab, his mum was at my mum's down south yesterday so knew she was joining him, didn't know my uncle was too Redfearns is a good shout
Your Uncle dropped her off. So just the two of them to Tankersley. Think they were offered a stop off for refreshments at Tankersley Manor. Others joining the walk at Tankersley.
Just walked up from the ship with Luke his mum and brother. He's one mile left to go - top effort Luke well done
