The boy has had 3 season tickets and he’s still only 4. Year off this year though. Hopefully back next season.
My son's first game was Sep 2005, aged 4 (turned 5 in the December) v Doncaster. He'll never forget it. 2 red cards for Austin and Kay, a 2-0 home defeat (our only one that season). He's been hooked ever since. They folks around us loved him there and whilst he sits with his own mates now, aged 18, he loved it with the big misters.
Took son when 5. Watched half game half iPad. But kept taking him until he watched more and more of the game. Same with daughter when she was 4 or 5. You gotta accept they won’t watch the whole game and let them play on phone/iPad etc. Just let them enjoy being at the game. I also used to take a pen and get them to tick off the players on the program who where playing. Gets them watching match a bit
Eldest lad at 5 years old, he's 16 now and wouldn't miss for owt .........young un at same age......he's now 11 but still hit n miss.......hoping when he starts big school he starts getting proper into it when all this mates are going........sithi.
My daughter is 6 and I was thinking about taking her to a match. I live at the other side of Sheffield (from and still work in Barnsley though) surrounded by Blunts and Fowls. When I take her to school for Big PE day all the boys are wearing a one or the other Sheffield kits for their PE Kit. I told her in no uncertain terms that when someone asks you who you support you say Barnsley. She keeps saying however that the Barnsley colours are red and white like the Blunts.
Son number 1 when he was 5 took a pop crate in with us so could stand on it and see over wall in West stand - he loved it
