Going to try my 3 year old tomorrow for first time Loves playing football and will watch on TV a little but no sure how he will go tomorrow Got the wife on standby If he lasts until half time that would be great Full time and I’m in dreamland haha
I recently started taking my 6 year old daughter. I purposefully dont give her lunch and make her a pack up to eat at the match so she basically munches thru that for the first aif. Then ipad and plenty of sweets usually gets me to 85 mins ish. She does watch alot but you have to respect she bound to get bored. But shes gotta put in the hard yards in if shes to make the next step which is away matches. Get in!!
When we lived in Donny , I took my lad to Belle Vue to watch Doncaster Rovers play Southend United under the lights. It was that boring, the action would have sent a glass eye to sleep.! After about ten minutes my very bored 6 year old son said " turn it ovver Dad" which made me chuckle. Wind forward 6 years and as a 12 year old after relocating to Ossett, he attended his first game at Oakwell and has been hooked ever since.
Took her to a preseason friendly a couple of years ago when she was 4 so if she wasn’t bothered I wouldn’t mind leaving, and weather was nice. She was ok and managed full game. Took her again this season against Luton in the family zone and she lost interest half way through, will try her again beginning of next season.
Took my daughter age 4 like other posts you need a few distractons to keep them occupied toilets are the main issue she's now 7 and is a Red through & through take some cash for the club shop btw we seem to be in every home game
I first took my daughter at 8 until she was 12 , then the little **** started having ideas of her own . In her own words " Dad I'm not coming anymore it's crap " .
When I was in the East stand there was a girl went with her dad from being a baby in arms. Good as gold she was . Personally my son was 10 before he wanted to come. I think a 3 yer old nay well get bored butility it really depends on the kid.
Took my lad just after he turned 7, was the mk dons home game in 14/15 where they were 5-0 up before we scored three in the last ten minutes to make it look undeservedly respectable at 3-5. He’s hooked now though
I know this sounds stupid but I know that deep down but just want to take him anyway All I have to do is ring the wife and she will pick Him within 10 minutes Then get the usual comment of ( told you he wouldn’t like it ) Will update you tomorrow hopefully 5pm but more than likely 15:03
Taking him in the Family Stand? If so, he'll probably enjoy it, with all the changes up there. If you're going in Ponty, I wouldn't bother, personally. He'll get bored and you (and more importantly everyone around you) will get annoyed.
Took my son when he was 6 in the promotion year to Premiership year against Wolves and for a few months all he talked about was Wolves.
My Son was 10 and my Daughter was 12 ,both in their 30's now. He came over from Australia in September and brought his Son who is 5 against Gillingham 3 generations now which was great.
Took my son when he was 6 and he's been hooked ever since. I reckon 5 or 6 is about right. We get quite a lot of little kids dropping in for games near us in the East Stand Upper, but the really young ones usually disappear at half-time and don't come back. They just dont like the noise - as soon as we all cheer, they start crying and that's that. But good luck, hope it goes well.
