    Sounds like there might be some announcement in the press conference today about the replacement for Winkler. Chris Stern to take that role and Tonge to work with them? Only guessing, but it sounded like Stendel had enjoyed working with Tonge the last couple of weeks and he mentioned he'd learnt a fair bit about the club and the academy by having him in his team.

    I think it good to have someone already at the club to be his assistant. Both will learn and if Stendl does move on to bigger and better things he'll leave done knowledge behind hopefully.

    Link WInkler did? Doesn't really work like that in the coaching world.

    Tonge is really highly rated at Oakwell so I'm not surprised at this one bit and Stendel loves his enthusiasm. Just hope we have enough 'craft/vision' in the dugout ongoing - I'm sure we will.

    Maybe we don’t want to pay compensation and that’s why they decided to wait .
    I hope your right about it though because I want to see people with an affinity to tge club come through eg Hassell , Devenney etc .

    Very much depends on their individual contract I would have thought? Winkler wasn't doing a coaching role either was he before he arrived?
    It might be that @Reds Fan's contact has it wrong. If it's the same person who's been feeding @Darfield-Red his info this last transfer window then it's probably totally untrue ;)

    It does but we all know notice periods don't really exist in the coaching world (or football world). Maybe there's someone out there who's contract expires in the Summer so we avoid and compensation

    Are some overlooking the fact that the new coach to be is on gardening leave from his previous club and therefore is still getting paid his contract monthly by them that is, until it is finally paid up,
    and by joining us now, would see whoever it is, loose out financially, that's if he were to join now rather than the start of next season
