Money is king, profit is god and no thought is given to the hardworking fans who love their club.
Unless there is a dramatic turn round in events during this final week which reassures us then I despair of ever having a club I can call my own, one that I can be truly proud of.

Didn't they say no for a bid for Thiam?

How do you know we're not saying no on a regular basis? How many times have we said yes so far this season?

Both Preston and Millwall had to break their transfer records to sign players from us. I think we said no a few times on the way to securing the transfer fees for those replaceable players.

Thiam and Moore wouldn’t be here if we couldn’t say no

Probably when a club asks for one of our staff or players and if they can have them on a free transfer.

We have to remember that players/staff etc are ambitious in a very short career for most .
The plan is to bring promising hungry players in to develop and develop them for our first team .
If this promise interests other clubs willing to compensate us and develop the player in a higher league then we are going the right way .
Young players see our set up and see a way into first team football and potential to climb the football ladder .
They will be keen to sign and will instruct their agents to do a deal .
An experienced and wise agent will insert clauses and benefits that helps further their clients career the club will also have clauses and among these will be to negotiate the release clauses so they can benefit club as well as player . If we are seen to be blocking or protesting what are very good offers of moves for players who have worked hard for our club (and themselves ) .
I’m sure the club will do due diligence and have a reasonable idea of what the player is worth etc .
This isn’t an exact science as the Stones and Flinders transfers prove .
I can see the sense of holding off some transfers as the 2017 January window showed us , especially if they have long term contracts but until we are in a position to offer terms of say Brentford , Millwall which imo won’t be long down the road these clubs will fall by the wayside in terms of bidding for our players and the bigger clubs will have to offer more until we are in a position to equal terms as WBA etc (just egs)
It’s the way we are developing and imo will get us to where we are going .
We are going to lose popular players / staff along the way but I personally think it will eventually pay without putting club at risk because as history tells us we are not one of these clubs that can keep getting into trouble and bounce straight back .
We are a club the powers that be will make an example of if we mess up
