Loving the singalong but 100% agree not the same without Chas. Read a great piece earlier this year, sorry last year where he explained why he'd left the band but hopefully next years 40th anniversary will bring him back if only for a short while
I am a child of the 80s but sorry, I am firmly of the opinion that these acts should just retire gracefully. Its like watching a bunch of 60 year olds who are too old to pretend to be daft kids and without the daft kids act its just not the same. Looks like Phil Mitchell on the sax.
There's a man I know who loved madness year ago he's called the lack of nostalgia man. Not what they were but still a great sing along enjoy

So assume you noticed he was flat and off key on several occasions? Don't get me wrong, I like nostalgia trips. My radio station of choice in the car is Absolute 80s (and Magic ). So it was enjoyable in a way. But musically, it wasn't good.
Loved the set plenty of old stuff and a bit of newer material. If you're a fan you will enjoy it. It is a few old men making a lot of old men happy and nostalgic but thats life as we age. Football or music we like to remember the good times and the ones we shared them with although some are gone but not forgotten. Legion Kev and Conny.
I enjoyed it. It was a singalong to a cartload of songs I know and a spectacular firework display whilst with my loved ones. I suppose some lovely person will explain how many sticks of rhubarb we could have bought the homeless in Sheffield to me for the price of the fireworks, but right now I’m chilled and enjoying not working 70 hours a week. My bad
I loved Madness in the late 1970's and early 1980's. 13 years ago my 9 year old son went to a matinee in Leeds and they were great. You can't criticise Madness. The real problem is the (landfill) indie cult means nobody has any longevity/back catalogue to command a big crowd, which bands of the last two decades could have pulled off this gig?? two notable exceptions: Artic Monkeys and Kasabian but both not mainstream/not primetime tv. BTw I am minded to say when judging british bands watch kasabian do LSF on the pyramid stage at Glastonbury on youtube, best gig I've been to
Lots of people thought it was Phil Mitchell too and you can see why..... His voice isn't as strong as it was. Good happy songs, but he was pretty much talking them and he had to get along political mentioning Brexit. Just what people want to hear about at a new year celebration.
Apologies to those who love it all but I thought Complete Madness was class but I couldn’t get on with Baggy Trousers or anything after that.
