A brilliant first half sealed us a very valuable three points. Thought pinnock, Bahre and thiam were very good. He gets a lot of stick thiam but he can do exceptional things shown with that brilliant goal. You reds
we are still a job in progress IMHO. Considering the time that our new coaching staff have had, I still believe there is still a learning curve happening. I see great progress and think its going to get better and better. We will most surely have a few slip ups, but we will and have learned from them. January is going to be a defining moment I think. If there are departures and incomings it will be good to see adaptation/gelling happen rapidly hopefully. The teams around us will ,I think, make changes . Perhaps to keep this group as it is and soldier on may be the way ahead.
We need to add a couple of quality additions. And if that means a few fringe players leave then so be it. Who we bring in should be of the same calibre as Dougal and Woodrow. Teams around us are recruiting so strengthening is key. We have to play Pompey and Sunderland again so be nice if we have strengthened more than they have when it comes to the return matches.
A fine 3 points and fully deserved. We were excellent first half and although Charlton improved second half and got back in it (thanks to the referee giving a ridiculous free kick), it would've been a travesty had we not won. Played some really good football as well, clearly not missed Kieffer the last couple of games.
