I didn’t really enjoy and other than the goal I don’t think there was much quality on show but hey ho I’ll take 3 pts every time
absolutely..... the lads confidence will have been rocked after last two previous results. A win a clean sheet and 3 points plus a move up a place can only have had a positive effect on them all.
3 points was vital after last 2 games. I hope we look to keep within touching distance of the top 2 by Christmas and look to strengthen in January. Hopefully Woodrow and Isgrove can add a bit more to the squad when back and fully fit. Pleased McGeehan did better today - he’s going to get at least a ten game run where Dougall is out so hopefully his form and confidence keeps growing from playing regular football. I’m not really surprised the players are somewhat hesitant about going full bloodied into challenges - they’ll have seen Dougall have his ankle nearly snapped in 2 and the ref reluctantly booked the shrewsbury player, they’ll have seen Moore get kicked and elbowed nearly every game with zero punishment to the offender, and the whole while you know if one of ours even so much as had a single stud off the ground refs will be delighted to send them off. I hope the club are on the phone to the FA every match we get lumbered with another incompetent ref. Hopefully the tide will turn. Should just be an even playing field where players are protected from injury by absolute cloggers like Grant. Otherwise we’ll see plenty more players with injuries like Dougall. The standard of refereeing is a huge concern. To us. The FA won’t give a *****. league 1 is where they send the incompetent ones from the championship as “punishment”.
