....... for a long time. Only saw second half but that was terrible. Big booit up field. Fleetwood winning midfield. Poor very scrappy game.
The opposition can win whatever they want as long as we win the game. If we're going to go up we'll do it by winning in lots of different ways.
To be fair to Nudge, it was an awful game. I’ll take another 30 bad games with 3 points each time though.
Not pretty, but Fleetwood were very physical We rarely looked in danger, and ground out a result away from home. I'm well chuffed. We ground out three away goals after going behind to a pretty decent side. I'll take that every away match, thanks very much. YOU REDS!
How many times have we heard people say - winning games when you are not playing well is the sign of a good team! Hard work against a quick physical team today and agree, we were 2nd to the ball for the early part of the 1st half and again at the start of, and for periods during, the 2nd half when Fleetwood came out with intent. We lost our discipline a bit hence the bookings but still managed 3 goals after falling behind. The scoreline may have flattered us a bit but the stats (ignoring the obvious goal difference) suggest we did actually make better use of the possession we had.
My post is more in response to nudger. Scrappy game but we got the points. Niggly ********. Think we will have a few more games like this it’s how teams are going to try and disturb our flow etc.
Who gives a *****? I’d take a poor performance but win over a good performance and a loss/draw every day of the week.
It’s a good job they were tho. All one way for large parts of the second half. We are winning - but we are not winning comfortably.
These are the kind of games I expect in div one....I expected it physical....and it was. Great 3 points and I am impressed we stood up and were counted. As you say not great on the eye...but we did try a bit of football. Anyway we ground it out...and we have our points....I'm pleased.
It makes a nice change from hammering teams in terms of possession and then conceding a late equaliser,
Not seen the game, but to be fair, my son has just messaged to say he didn't think we played particularly well, and that Fleetwood were all over us and well worth their lead. But to play below par, and come away with 3 points and a 3-1 win is a good sign, against a team who would have gone above us had they won. I think the expectation of us playing stellar football every week is unrealistic, and when it doesn't happen, I'll take winning football.
