Talks about the transfer ins and outs, missing out on Chaplin and the positive atmosphere around the club. Another good interview from him, comes across clear with what he’s saying and has a positive attitude. You reds.
Interesting comments regarding Chaplin. Appears we were very keen but Pompey wanted to let him go to Coventry. Pleasing to see Ganaye being honest about the situation even when we do miss out on a player.
Makes sense. Pompey see us as a promotion rival but won't see Coventry as one. Selling to a rival to stengthen them doesn't make sense. Bit like last season when we sold Mcdonald to Hull and they went from a relegation rival, to staying up comfortably.
Sounds great. A shame he couldn't include a shout out for his good mate Young Nudger - especially after the effort was made to personally welcome him on behalf of all of us.
To be honest I don't think McDonald had much to do with keeping hull up. They made some really good signings in January. Angus would be our 4th choice center half if he was still here.
Good interview and glad they have started discussions on contracts. To paraphrase, anyone entering their last year who doesn't re-sign, they have a decision to make in January. Also interesting they are keen to extend contracts of players who are beyond 12 months left where they have been impressed with their contributions.
It would be better if he put some of his information on the site at the time. Everything is too lax with talking to the fans
A good few out of contract in the summer. Davies, Moncur, Jackson, Cavare (but we've a year option), Mowatt, Hedges, then 2 years are Lindsay, Isgrove, Potts (+1), Fryers, Pinnock, Thiam, Pinillos, McGeehan, Dougall and plenty of kids. I'd be very keen to get Dougall on a longer deal already to be honest, it won't be long at all before someone comes scouting him. Could see him slotting into a team like Fulham very easily. May well be a case of trying to offer promotion incentives, seeing as many we're told, had their salaries drop significantly upon relegation.
Excellent interview , the guy comes across as very knowledgeable & extremely professional & to add to those attributes he also comes across as very likeable , well done GG .
He counters this by saying he doesn’t like releasing information until the deals are sorted and the windows done as it could harm the clubs position in deals. I think he does well and releases statements when they’re needed and he balances it well. Not a silent CEO and not a gobby leader like the one down Peterborough so I think we’ve done well.
Goes from strength to strength in my opinion. Was very raw when he came in, and came in at quite a turbulent time for the football club. Keep up the good work GG & I like the approach of not divulging information until deals are complete. Makes complete sense to me.
IMO he was thrown under the bus a little when he came in. Used as a bit of a fall guy to protect other people's reputation
So it wasn’t,t the player that did not want come here, they told him then that he can go but not to barnsley. Hope they never come in for one of our players the first word should begin with f.
I was encouraged by his comments on Woodrow being an improvement on Bradshaw rather than a replacement, or at least someone who could potentially play better alongside Moore. All sounded good to me.
