Do you think players and coaching staff look at what went well, what went wrong and what could be done better or do they just go "good result lads - same again next Satdi"? Tenner says it's the former. Why can't that discussion be held on here without accusations of negativity or whinging? Are people that sensitive? Man up. As the popular saying on here goes.
Someone at the game had a go at me when I muttered for f!#ks sake to myself as Davies launched yet another goal kick into the East stand. Said I should get behind them, to which I replied I do. I applaud everything positive Davies does, I want him to do well. I know they are trying, I know they want to do well. But I am human, and I get frustrated sometimes. Had some flack on here for suggesting it's poor Thiam can't play 90 mins. I like to discuss BFC it's not all going to be positive.
Someone suggested thiam couldn't last 90mins fair enough but he isn't alone. Then people jumped on the thread slating his performance can't agree with that one thought he was good my self and put one on a plate for moncur who should of finished. Davies was decent but his kicking seemed to go to pot when they scored one point stendal was jumping up and down when he launched one into the west stand under no pressure.
I agree some people thrive on the negative and overall I'm delighted with how we are playing. I'm sure the coaching staff see the area's we can improve and are working on it. Have my doubts Davies will ever be able to improve his distribution. It's not shown any sign of improvement yet. Hope he can because the rest of his game shows potential.
I think you are right that they will look at all aspects of the 90 minutes , positives & negatives from the performance . Analysis seems to be a big part of modern coaching , however , whether individual players are able to respond to instructions & coaching from such analysis is a different matter , I suppose its down to the attitude & ability of the player.
If we're all supposed to think the same there's no point to this forum. How can we have a debate without differing viewpoints/opinions? Sick of this 'I'm always right' attitude, and lack of respect for others' views, that's so prevalent these days.
The management team will identify issues, mistakes and other parts of the game to work on, then spend some time on the training pitch working on those issues - including probably some time watching footage to highlight what they are trying to improve. Not much time when there are two games in a week, but there are always things to improve. Whether the instructions are clear enough, or the individual players savvy enough, to make the necessary improvements is up for debate.
There probably isn't a manager or coaching staff in the world who are happy with everything every week. Even teams that have no other challenge for the title like Celtic.
I guess the problem is that some people are simply the polar opposite of 'happy clappers'. Perhaps a touch of positivity now and then would add more credence to the negative comments. Quite honestly I think some people just get some sort of kick out of criticising everything.
Depends on who the poster is, and whether they're even handed or maybe they've got history of not allowing themselves to ever appear happy. Some people can gush about the positives but still have reservations about certain players, and that's fair enough to me. If you're referring to the post about Moncur specifically, that was just daftness on the OPs part, because he left himself open to be proved wrong on the day.
The coaching team will analyse every aspect of the game. Unlike the fans they won't let their subjective views get in the way of their analysis. How many fans actually know how games are analysed not many I bet?
No one is saying discussion can’t be held without accusations of negativity or whinging. It should be encouraged. However it should also correlate with the performances on the pitch. Just like with the management team - If the team is bashing other teams up every week the focus on went wrong will be a lot smaller than the focus on what went right. That being said when 99% of posts from ‘Poster A’ come across or are perceived as negative then it’s very difficult for ‘Poster B,C,D’ to believe ‘Poster A’ has a balanced view. It’s also pretty easy for them to believe ‘Poster A’ has something of an agenda when the team are playing some of the best football they have in years, ‘Poster A’ goes missing. When they are playing badly he seems to be one of the first to post.
Me and ar lass never agree on owt. But still together after 44 yrs. (got to say though she has the last bloody word. Know where my breads buttered so to speak.)
I wasn't referring to any thread specifically but it was another thread which was the general basis for my post.
I agree with what you're saying, actually. The problem is, when people never have anything positive to say, even taking delight in leaving the forum for a week after a victory, people will naturally take an overly positive view, in order to balance things out.
