Look at how low Peterborough are despite being at the top. If we can convert a few more of those chances we'll be laughing.

 

Wish we had the Peterborough conversion rate. That's a better stat than shots on target.

 

I can't see Posh maintaining their impressive start to the season.

 

Let's not forget that Peterborough have scored three penalties. We haven't been awarded one yet.

 

I’d like to think that Peterborough will eventually stop being so clinical but we’ll continue to create the chances.

 

I hope not. I cannot stand their owner. I hope they finish in the playoffs, only to get beasted in both legs by someone else who doesn't even end up getting promoted.

Or alternatively have a massive fall from grace and get relegated

My feeling is we haven't properly got going yet, and are still finding our range.

Yeah, I know that sounds a bit daft after the start we've had, and 2 heavy victories, but a poor final ball or not delivering early enough have been a feature of the season so far and can be improved on.

 

I agree and when you add the fact that we get about 2 in 10 crosses and 1 in 10 corners spot on, if we click with the shooting and crossing in the same game, someone's in for a right hiding. My money's on Peterborough away on 6th October

Apparently Peterborough aren't playing well (was speaking to a Peterborough fan) they're just very clinical.

But it's also worth noting that total shots (and even shots on target) are not necessarily indicative of chances created. If you ping one high wide and not so handsome into the crowd from 30 yards it's not really a chance. And a tame effort from a similar distance that rolls into the keepers arms can't really be classed as one either. Sometimes you're more likely to score if you don't hit a speculative effort, don't take as many shots, but take your time and carve out a real chance. Not saying we haven't created the most chances, we've had periods in four of the five games we've played where we've laid siege on the opposition's goal, but there were a few times on Saturday, when we were shooting from distance and looked unlikely to score, where a pass to a player in space was the much better option.
