It’s great he’s notched a couple early. Be great for his confidence, and a striker has to be there to score them. However it’s his strength and pace I’ve been impressed with. In the U23s I thought he bullied players, but he would struggle to have the same impact at senior level. Looks like I was wrong! I think this will be a season to bed him in slowly, and not expect too much from him too soon. He’s still got weaknesses in his game, namely composure - he’s missed a couple of really easy chances. That will come with time, coaching and not having too much pressure on his shoulders. I’m really pleased to see Brown getting back into the fold. Expected last year to be his breakthrough year. Best striker I’ve seen in our academy for a generation or more, he could score left foot, right foot, headers, and has speed and acceleration. Although seems like he’s now a full back - we do sell defenders for millions so may be a cunning plan!
