What has happened to Zeki Fryers? Is he injured? As he has not featured in the last two preseason matches.
Gave out a few loud screams at Salford where he must have done his ankle or knee needing to go off in a brace and on a stretcher. Prob be a while. He was playing holding midfielder at the time and that role covered now
Yes was injured at Salford and didn’t make the trip to Hungary. So left back is Pinillos to lose with young Ben Williams as cover in the u23s.
Isn't he injured 90% of the time? How does he keep getting contracts with so few games played at his age.
I’m more concerned about how limited he is when he actually does play. That said I think league one is his level, hopefully he’ll be fit soon.
It's ludicrous that a player can get to 25 years of age with less than 50 appearances to his name. Same as Isgrove.
Fitness is his problem. Was very highly rated by Man Utd and Tottenham, but didn’t get the games required during the key years. Impacted his fitness and his development. And can’t string any games together to get form. I know plenty don’t rate him, but personally think he could be useful in League 1 if, and it’s a big if, he could stay fit and play some games. Otherwise would rather see Ben Williams play as always thought he looked good in the few U23s matches I saw last year. More attacking than Pinillos or Fryers and looks very quick and fit. Wonder how many good young players never fill early potential because Premierleague clubs hoard them for the u23s in the hope one or two may break through.
