A couple of months ago I approached BFC about a young adult from one of the special schools that I work with. A lad from Rotherham who supports Barnsley. He’s been having a pretty rough time and on top of all he’s dealing with, has had to deal with being around jubilant Millers fans as Barnsley got relegated. Via a couple of messages from whitey and Beth Sefton, another member of the BFC team also called Andrew arranged a package where our young man and his friend went behind the scenes today, met the players, went on the pitch etc. To say that this experience made his day is an understatement. Put it this way, when I told the teacher at his school it was all arranged, she burst into tears just knowing what it would mean to him. She’s been in touch today and said they had a wonderful time and was full of praise for everyone behind the scenes. As an aside, she is a Miller and said that Kenny looks like a brilliant buy.
Great stuff BFC & those involved. It’s all these types of things that go on, but rarely get mentioned or the people recognised. Another reason to be proud of our club and the people that work so hard behind the scenes. Really glad the little lad had a fantastic time.
Young adult. Sorry. Was a turn of phrase as the post also talked about his school. Him being a lad etc. But well done for picking up on that in this thread. Congrats.
