I’ve had a few messages from @redarmychris of late saying that he has tried on several occasions to log in (not sure if it’s to contribute or read only) to the BBS but unfortunately his email address looks to have been removed from the @redarmychris account and as such he can’t log in despite the @redarmychris account remaining active (this differs from the Hemsworth Tyke account which has been removed altogether). He has apparently attempted to create a new account on a few occasions but the new accounts were also rejected. I recall a thread where it was discussed that a former member had his IP address blocked so presume that this has also happened in this case. Are any administrators able to confirm? I know that @redarmychris has emailed @Gally but that he hasn’t received a response. I personally find it bizarre that an email address has been unallocated from an account and this certainly raises privacy issues that don’t sit particularly well with me. For all his faults @redarmychris posted almost exclusively regarding Barnsley F.C. and many on the board despite the odd annoyance found him to be a worthwhile contributor. I would certainly welcome him back. Cue @Fonzie et al saying that I’m @redarmychris.
Irrespective of the rest how does this affect you? The lad unfortunately became a parody of himself, just like the other one he will no doubt love people talking about him. Ah well live and let live and all that
I actually enjoyed the posts that related to the club. It’s a matter of personal opinion of course but it’s arguable that this board has become a parody of itself of late.
Hi Chris. Nah, only kidding. I was a bit of a bellend to him previously for no real reason. Apologies all round.
Myself and the lads at work would wait for his posts during transfer windows to hopefully pick up some info on potential signings . Hope his account gets sorted......
Indeed although that request was categorically and unequivocally rejected and the account remains in situ albeit without the assigned email account, as stated above.
Do you mean the @redarmychris (seems you like him) that always said he had no inside info and found it all on the internet then said he had inside info then denied it and said it was off the internet,,,,,????????? that @redarmychris ?????
I think he means compulsive liar and self confirmed troll @redarmychris the @redarmychris who admits to regularly breaking BBS rules.
Yet again you seem quite knowledgeable and really bothered about another posters account. I wonder....
Well, if it were my account that I couldn’t access despite the account being live I would be wondering why it couldn’t be accessed, why my email address had been removed from the account, by whom and for what purpose. There is obviously a large amount of sensitive data associated with any forum of this nature, that’s a given. Emotion and pure trolling aside, I’m sure you can appreciate that.
The site has lost Hemsy, Redstar, redarmychris amongst others and is just a bit dull without them . Nowt like a bit of controversy and a good scrap to liven the place up . Grey isn't the new black !
I'm not sure what the privacy issue is of removing an email address from an account. Using an email address for random purposes yes but removing it from an account? No I don't see any privacy concern there at all.
So in essence it has been removed. Redarmy Chris can't use it, as was his wish, and no one else can take on that moniker as it is still recognised by the system but does not allow logins. That's how we delete accounts where I work. The name of the account is not removed but all information linked to it is. It's the safest way of doing things as it prevents another account from being created with the same user name.
