I can't stand Neymar, but I'd never wish anything like that for anyone. It's still just a game after all. Seeing him sent off for diving, like Gheorghe Hagi in 1994, would be the greatest moment of this World Cup though...
With the possible exception of Michael Brown, I dislike Neymar more than any other player since the days Terry Curran was at Sheffield Wednesday.
People like him are imo killing football. Children are watching TV and thinking 'oh that's what the famous players do. I'll do that too' He's a cheat that doesn't deserve to make a career from football. A yellow card for diving won't stop him but removing his ability to play football will. It might be harsh but I have nothing but hatred for someone who isn't happy with being a millionaire and is so selfish that they cheat so constantly
I just can't believe that the referees these days don't have the balls to book players for diving. With so many cameras all around the pitch, they should be able to see super slow motion replays from every angle of everything that happens in the play...
Oh, and I started to doubt myself and had to check when exactly Ghe Hagi was sent off for diving... It turns out that it in Euro 2000, not WC'94! Feels like forever ago...
I would have liked him to have copped one full in the beanbag. Broken legs is a bit much, but I get the sentiment.
And he wouldnt do it if he got punished for it more often, Fifa are the ones who can stop this immediately if they really want to. Whether thats what the Brazil & Uruguay & Colombia players are used to doing and getting away with in their own nations leagues, it shouldnt be allowed in something prestige like the World Cup.
Yours is a post that brings you down to a level way below Neymar's. Loving nothing more? Read what you wrote and weep.
