I know he has since had to apologise but the idea of such a perfect sportsman accusing England committing robbery against columbia is actually quite funny https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44716774 I think we can all agree the referee wasnt very good but to say he was blatantly biased in Englands favour is surprising. had that been the case they wouldnt have finished the game with 11 on the pitch thats certain
Maradona can be a bit of a ***** at times, but in his defense, at least he has the courage to speak out loud what he really thinks... Even if I don't always agree with what he says. Perhaps he should think more before he opens his mouth, but then again, why should he? The world is full of celebrities who only aim to keep their public image perfectly clear already. But you know, it's perfectly normal that people think that the referee is biased against the team that they want to win. Maradona obviously wanted his fellow South Americans to win. Many people on this BBS seemed to be convinced that the referee is the worst ever and has taken a bribe, while I (from a neutralish point of view) thought that he did OK. The only big mistake that he did was to let players from both teams complain way too much.
I think they should check Google translate - the Colombian for 'ashamed' seems to translate as 'proud'
I think he did relatively ok in a game that mustve been extremely testing. To say he was bribed etc is ridiculous. I think the Colombian shouldve been sent off for the headbutt but that was the VAR refs' fault not him, unless he refused to view it. Other than that there were a few incidents where we were the perpretrators or over exagerrated contact so we can't complain.
