    the ball wasn't in play so I don't think that the ref could have given a penalty for that?

    VAR officials have no power to issue or suggest yellow cards though, only reds

    Yellow seemed like a fair decision to me. It was a stupid thing to do, but Henderson exaggerated the "injury" too. Hopefully the second half is a bit more entertaining, so far this has been one of the worst games in the World Cup.

    I'm actually surprised he didn't do anything about their other player with the big bushy hairdo. Seemed quite aggressive right in front of the ref
