the question is thus... what is or are your understandings of Barnsley Football club. What are your understandings of the supporters of Barnsley football club. What are your understandings of the people of Barnsley and its surrounding area. I will give you a little clue. The people are in this area are sharp, they are witty... they are strong, and they are a community. Its a community that has had its heart torn out from it in various ways and in various decades. But its a community that somehow always pulls through and will always survive. Its a community that will pull together in adversity, its a community that will laugh and joke and drink life by the pint.... its a community that I thank God I was born into. New Owners I ask you to understand the Psyche of Yorkshire men and Women. We Have pride . Now if you take pride from the people of Yorkshire then you take away our hearts. New owners I now urge you to take a long hard think about this.

Understand your sentiment, but disagree with one bit. No matter what they did they could never take away our pride. Nobody else has managed so doubt some billionaire owners of the club could do it!

They said that what they liked was our community club, and how well we were run, so I’m a bit surprised they instantly seemed to want to expand our commerciality abroad. Perhaps walk before they can run. Get a knowledgeable man in the club to run the off field football activities, get a good manager in, get a decent set of coaches supporting him, and let the manager and DOF have a say in shaping the club.

Also sign a few more attacking CMs. We don’t have enough of them.

What is your understanding of paragraphs & basic punctuation? Is the world flat, round or an oblate spheroid? Have you ever eaten a Barnsley Chop & if you have was it accompanied by mint sauce? Do You Occasionally Resort to using random capitals? I'm really interested.

At the moment it feels to me like we have become Barnsley FC Franchise Ltd.

We are woefully short of identity. That comes not just from people like Norman Rimmington (Staincross) or Paul Heckingbottom (Royston), although they both exemplify it. It's also people like Alan Clarke (Willenhall), Danny Wilson (Wigan), Neil Redfearn (Dewsbury), Conor Hourihane (Cork) or Barry Murphy (Consett).

It's noteworthy that all of them in their time left us for a better opportunity at the time, but all were legends while they were with us and in most cases, afterwards.

It's all true pride and loyalty from a fan but the owners haven't been arsed to make a single statement . It just doesn't hurt anymore and that hurts .

Very true. It makes me laugh that people think the end of the world has arrived. The new owners have been here 5 mins and had one unexpected decision to make yet its like in the past 3 months they stole our club, nicked our pride and killed our 130 yr heritage. Mountains and molehills. I dont think some will be happy until we have the club owned by the community, season tickets 2.50p for 10 years, with a special 42 tickets for the price of 1 for casual supporters, Brian Glover as Manager (not head coach) with Mick McCarthy director of football (oh hang on, too modern, Chairman will do). Assistant manager Bobby Hassel and Harry Worth as 'trainer'. We of course need to keep the badge but we are ok with Ashley Jackson colouring it in to modernise it and adding a kestrel onto the shoulder of the glassblower. We need Michael Parkinson to release a monthly Not A Podcast (love him or loath him) and the new tune to lead the team out played live by Grimethorpe Colliery Band. Sorted ;-)

Hello, hello, what's all this shouting? We'll have no trouble here, this is a local club for local people!

    Agree.
The tone of this thread is just daft.

Are we already attacking the owners that haven’t really got started yet ???
    Why ???

OK - the owners didn’t seem to get involved in the January 2018 window.
But on paper the club did well in January to plug gaps left over from the summer.
The squad in January was well equipped to move away from the relegation zone.
The Bookies know this - probably why we are favourites to go straight back up.

And OK - the owners appointed Morais. But his CV is brilliant. It’s not the owners fault that he tinkered about with the team to such an extent that he undermined the confidence of the players.

So please don’t start waving a finger at the owners. They will fully understand the stress and disappointment that this last few weeks has brought.

Nudge, I agree with a lot of what you say but how in gods name is Morais' cv brilliant? Working alongside Mourinho should have been totally irrelevant to the task of keeping us up without even bringing into consideration his rank bad managerial record.

Can’t agree more Re: identity, in a WhatsApp group a few of the lads are in I put last night that I felt we started to unravel when Ben Mansford left and we’ve continued to do so since imo, i honestly feel massively disconnected from my club at the minute and it’s an awful feeling
