A bit rich from a team from one of the biggest cities in the country with a humungous catchment area. A club that has consistently failed to achieve anything. Another club bank rolled and buying buying buying. A club that has finally got a few fans coming through the door. A club in the play off zone that musters just 800 away fans, when they re on the up. Wow. Arrogance. In the circumstances I'd say our support is pretty great.
If we were in their league position and playing away at them today, we would have taken more than their sorry 855 effort.
Poor support. Surprised me that 90% of their songs were aimed at us, along the lines of “you’re going down” or “he left cause your ****”.
We took 1220 to them this season. We also took more to Ashton Gate than they brought here last season, despite them being top 6 when they played here last time. Their support is ok but above the Midlands it's appalling.
Bristol City's away support is all or nothing. Regularly take less than 1000 all over the place but are also capable of taking 3-4000 when it suits. I remember them bringing 4500 to Oakwell in their promotion season and about 6000 to Sheffield Wednesday. But on average they don't travel too well. Ironically I've also thought Bristol Rovers have a cracking following for a side starved of success for so long. I bet their away average is similar to City's. Quite a big club on the quiet Bristol Rovers.
