" can’t wait to get started. I can’t wait. It’s a big opportunity, a big football club and something you work hard for. I’m planning to make the most of it."

“When I spoke to Victor and the owner (Andrea Radrizzani), it really aligned with what I was thinking and how I’d like to work. I presume that’s the reason they thought I was the right man for the job. I’m aligned with how they like to work and hopefully that will be good for us going forward.

Did he tell them there was never any doubt he wanted a contract?

So apparently he is aligned with the way they like to work (2-3 managers a season) as opposed to how we work here (give a new contract to a manager with 1 win in 16). Definitely not selling your soul then, more about they way they work. I don't think even the Leeds fans will buy that Paul. Might be better to just say nowt.

At least it beats Wilsons' "I don't care if I was the hundredth person they asked I'd have taken the job" quote.

So Victor Orta will be buying new players rather than Mr Spreadsheet. It's a great job this director of football lark. The coach gets the blame when things go wrong.

I thought one of his grouses was that he didn’t pick the players!

Sounds like he'll have even less say over recrutiment than he had here. Anyway, he's not our problem anymore - **** him.
