how Mr Heckingbottom's family's future would be insecure if he stayed at Barnsley Football Club?

    Thank you.

It wouldn’t. Leaving makes no sense.

How could anyone answer that without knowing what his severance package was if the new owners sacked him in a few weeks?

I assume Hecky will decide what’s in his family’s best interests to secure their long term futures as much as possible.

Not everyone is as altruistic as you seem to be.

He could be a few weeks away from the sack. Then he would probably be looking at a job further down the pyramid. He had a middling career not going to be Uber wealthy. And **** me 5 kids. I can barely afford 2.

It's about being more secure isn't it?

Given that we have no idea what he's on here or what he'd be offered at Leeds it's an impossible question. If I was offered a contract that would secure my family's future for life though I'd think myself a fool to turn it down. Especially when sections of the support of my current club are starting to turn against me.

His family's future is by definition insecure, having regard to his chosen profession.

He will be in the top 1% of earners in the country. Moving to Leeds will make him richer but are we meant to believe he is living hand to mouth at BFC and the kids are wearing hand me downs?

He could be a few days from the sack at Leeds.

True but if he stays he could be sacked with a one year contract paid up. If he goes he could be sacked with a nice, fat three year deal to be paid up.

More secure than a six figure salary?

I doubt they’d pay a full 3 year deal up

    Well that’s 2k a week.

Peanuts for a manager in this division. There’ll be some in league two on double that.

No. Who said that? It may be a short career - could be on scrap heap by 50.

He may like to secure a good financial future for him and his wife in retirement, his kids, their futures, perhaps start them off with Property. Then help them with grandkids.

Being a parent may make him think about his family before himself. Long term as well as short term.

Can you guarantee that his future would be secure beyond the next 3 weeks if results go badly here?

If the release clause is £400k it’s likely what he’s on
