Then I would stick with Hecky for the start of next season. However, he would have no more 'excuses' and IMO would need to have us in the top 6 come December and looking like putting together a promotion push or it would be time to move him on...
Hecky proved what he can do with a settled team - got us promoted and within sight of the playoffs. It was a year ago. Wasn’t a long time ago. Since then he’s had to build a brand new championship squad with kids and lower league players. And he’s still, by the skin of our teeth, keeping us out of the relegation zone. If we stay up he’s a bloody miracle worker. If we go down he did as well as anyone could have.
You mean Hecky and Tommy Wright. Looking at how hecky has performed without the latter must be a huge cause for concern. People are conveniently forgetting about Tommy Wrights huge part in 'Hecky's success' i reckon.
You think Tommy Wright going was the issue? Not Hourihane, Winnall, Roberts, Watkins, Scowen? Wright was sacked September 2016. Hecky has us on verge of playoffs January 2017. Then the team was dissolved. Replaced with unknowns and lower league players. But if you think it was Wright that was key to our downturn rather than Hourihane, Winnall, Bree, Roberts, Watkins, Scowen...... as well as having to replace all the loans. Ok.
Ah, but it was easy when the team were already gelled and winning, who do you think helped heckie and the team get promoted eh? look at the stats since that team was ripped apart in January last year, bloody shocking!
The team who were on the whole signed from a higher standard than the current one and had been together for over 2 years?
Ok pal. Was all Tommy Wright that got us promoted. Was a settled team that got us to within playoffs. And it was all Heckys fault when we replaced Hourihane with Mowatt and Winnall with the combined firepower of a hair dryer. And built a team from L1,L2 and Conference.
Just looking at results with him still in place He was sacked on 29th September 2016. Our record at that point was 5 wins, 5 defeats and 1 draw. 1.45 ppg After he was cleared out our record was 10 Wins, 14 Defeats, 14 draws 1.15 ppg On the face of that you’d say his departure had a huge impact but if you further break the 38 games into pre and post Jan you get 8 wins 7 Defeats 6 Draws 1.43 ppg I’d say it’s clear that the loss of the players was obviously much worse That said, I’ve no idea if Clapham is any good or not
For some people on here, because hes a barnsley lad, PH can do no wrong it seems. I'm not for him getting the boot but he needs to get this side firing and bloody quickly. Todays defensive team selection was a disgrace considering the players at his disposal and probably lost us a very winnable fixture but we'll never know. Best form of defence is attack ,something weve forgotten how to do. Now there are more attacking players at the club, for me, the manager is running out of excuses and games.
