Sustained defending, profligacy from Brentford and a fantastic save from Davies at the end. Fulham have just embarrassingly lost at Sunderland. Glimmers of hope for next week. Edited to say 842 Reds there as well. Superb support just before Christmas and with the run we've been on, glad they're coming home with a point.
Not really relevant, but it's just occurred to me how potentially unpleasant the 'clean sheet' metaphor is.
I think you'll be proven right (although hopefully not against us) but the previous 20 odd teams that went to the Stadium of Light managed to not lose and if I were a fulham fan I'd be embarrassed right now. Hopefully their team won't have got over the shock by next Saturday.
Good job wi held out.. means even if we get nowt at Fulham next week, we still cant drop into the bottom three
Hard earned point. Weren't really at the races for first 70 minutes, finished the game better. Davies man of match for me.
My only visit there was back in 76 when an outstanding Ally Millar goal gave us a 1-0 win . Pre match was in the Griffin pub enjoying Fullers ESB . So much that I missed kick off .
Good point. We could have nicked all 3 when we started playing for last 20mins though that would have been harsh on Brentford. Defence played well. Pearson got a knock just before half time. But Pinnock did well as replacement.Midfield ineffective which meant strikers isolated. Poor game but happy to come away with a clean sheet and a point
Agree with the majority of posters. It doesn't really matter how well or otherwise we played today. The most important thing is we got a point and did not concede. For us to ensure we start climbing the table, we need to make Oakwell a fortress and get the goals difference column into a positive number. Come the end of the season GD could mean the difference between survival and relegation.
A point away from home is always welcome, but after the run we've just had, doubly so. Well done Reds and thumbs up to all who travelled today.
Don't get me wrong, I think a point today is a hugely welcome return and a blessed relief after 5 miserable defeats on the bounce. Fantastic reward for the unbelievable support we took down there just before Christmas in the middle of such a bad run and I hope everyone who went enjoyed it. We ground out a point today because, for once, our defence held firm. But another 24 0-0 draws will see us relegated. We need to win some games and to win you have to score. With that in mind it is more and more concerning that reports from those who were there suggest we were ineffective in the middle again. And we have now played almost 10 HOURS of football since we last scored a goal from open play.
