I've been thinking lately about this and am coming up with some rather unhealthy conclusions.
We all know how his team last season was ripped apart for the desire for money and how he reacted in various media outlets criticising the powers that be saying these things must not be allowed to continue. He was being undermined and probably knew it. I doubt these powers offered him much support and the new players brought in probably did not meet his expectations as he was told to start again from scratch. You will have who we tell you to have.... you can almost hear it.
Along comes the takeover gumph and once again he is probably left in limbo... is it happening.... is it not happening.... end of September... no comment... we're not telling you anything. Even now, to us at least, it is still a mystery. What on earth is happening?
Then we get caught up in the Sunderland farrago. Was the club ever approached for permission? Did the powers that be allow Hecky to talk to them or was it all smoke and mirrors? Next thing that happens is GG is telling the world that talks have begun with Hecky to extend his contract.... a rolling year by year one?
He has been asked to perform miracles over and above his manager role, he has admitted to this, apparently stuff not in his remit and he was desperate for help.
I do not go around talking ******** as a rule so this is not a knee jerk reaction after some beers written down in a stupor but I'm starting to question what is going on down at Oakwell from top to bottom. There's some very strange things happening there and unless sorted we will be in serious trouble again.... relegation.
My heart tells me that Hecky is not fully in the zone. The very strange run of results has left me questioning his desire to run the team as he should and who could blame him. We hear about players not playing for the manager but do we have a situation here of a manager not playing for the club?
Don't just reply saying this is utter *****, it's not meant to be, but come up with counter arguments that are realistic, and please not just "he's one of our own."

Personally I don't believe that Hecky has anything less than 100% commitment to BFC and has a desire equal to anyone in the ground to win games.

In our recent run of poor performances, the players looked like they've given up, the fans staying away or making for the gate long before full time also look like they've given up.
    Perhaps it's infectious.

I think it's too easy to read too much into things. Hecky said himself just this aft in an interview how we knew how difficult this season was going to be.

Hecky is in a job that is very well paid, is currently discussing a new contract. He won't have any money worries, and won't be down in the dumps like most fans.

Football people aren't the same as us. They don't get easily excited or throw the teddy out because things don't go their way.

Hecky will just be doing the best he can until hes told differently.

There is no requirement for a counter argument to something you’ve made up in your head. You can argue about facts not made up guff.
