    Pinch of salt of course as when he was heavy odds on, but promising.

    Coleman is also drifting, I reckon someone lumped on him large and sold everyone up the river.

    I think that's good value. His press conference was non-committal, I think if there was an approach he'd be interested.

    He is always non committal. Why would he rule himself out of any job until he has some details. If someone phoned me and asked would I work for a competitor - my answer would always be it depends on the details what is the offer. If there isn't an offer why would I discuss it.

    I was once "headhunted" and at least allowed the process to go along a bit but pulled the plug when it was clear their maximum salary was significantly less than I was then on. Not saying I would have changed jobs had the money been significantly better but I would have at least discussed it further.

    I am sure thats Hecky's position - He is happy at Barnsley, but if a potentially bigger club really came in for him he would at least look at the details and then make a decision. No point ruling himself out before he has any idea what the deal might be

    As far as I am concerned, from his " body language" and his comments about the Clubs future in the articles
    in the Chronicle, Hecky seems to be happy in his current role at Barnsley and deep down, he doesn't want to leave.
    Where I worked the only way you could ever "lever" a salary increase was to test our employers resolve
    to hold on to you. To do that I applied for a job elsewhere on a higher salary which when I told them of it my
    employers matched. To me there would be no harm in Hecky talking to Sunderland in the hope that Patrick might decide to
    give him a rise commensurate with his current worth to the Club. It's a ploy you can only use once mind, but he should try it and from what he's achieved thus far and is likely to achieve in the future, surely he deserves it.?
