Just got in from Headingley. What a brilliant day. I rocked up early and watched the women's game which was good and we beat the Lancies comfortably. Very impressed with Katherine Brunt and the Yorkshire Diamonds. Men were excellent then too. Great start to the batting, lost a bit of momentum with the rain break and I felt that the Lancies were in with a chance at half-time but super bowling from Bressie, backed up by the others, but it was Bressie's show from the beginning - his 2 for 4 in his first two overs as telling as the next 4 for 15 he took in his last two at the end. Good catching all round and Jack Leaning, take a bow son, stunner. Some ground-fielding and wicket-keeping to work on but the Yorkies were roared home by a terrific crowd in a great atmosphere. Six wicket haul, wonder catch, great team spirit, great atmosphere and beating the Lancies twice - magic! Eleven hours on the ale, it's telling on me but franchise cricket better than that? - No 'effin way. I need bed, I think, therefore, I Thiam. Allez les rouges!
