Yes OK, we lost.... we haven't won away from home on the first day of the season for 21 years! Was it a shock... NO. was it the first choice team... NO. I certainly don't think Hecky would not have liked chucking Potts in straight away without training much with the team. And with Izzy, mallan, mcgeehan, Lyndsay and a new striker coming in.... It'll be like a new team in a couple of weeks when Hecky gets the training and togetherness in place. Three very sloppy goals.... but a clean sheet and a goal in the second half. Yes of course we are very light and lacking ideas up top... but that will come.... I'm Not a happy clapper, i'm as disappointed as anyone with the result today, but I certainly don't think it's time to blame everyone at the club. And call for the manager, owner, chief exec.... or anyone to leave or be sacked! In Hecky I TRUST!
I was still pissed from.last night. Luckily Bristol gave up after half time to keep the score respectable. Who knows what the season will be? I think Bristol City will be bottom 6 and they brushed us aside easily. We need a 5 first team players in before the end of the window. Not potential but actual.
A new striker coming in????????? weve been getting one for the last 2 months... i think someone has been taking the proverbial over this one. i dont think they have even been looking, just hoping to wing it with what we have got...
Exactly right. There's a plan - it's a good plan - and the club has to stick to it. Even the players contracts are better. Only problem so far this season is that players haven't been brought in quick enough for Hecky to sort them out. Consequently we are in for a very slow start to the season. But give it time
I find myself agreeing Nudger, think they expected getting Fletcher & are now waiting for McBurnie, a risky strategy but if you aren't willing to throw money at it, it's the only strategy we've got. Pre season is effectively starting now, unfortunately we've 2 games a week that matter for the next month or so....
Saw the highlights this morning and had that chance which hit the woodwork gone in.......different game.
Like many of the so called "happy clappers" I'm not scared to call the club out if it's doing something wrong, likewise I'm not scared to say when a performance is as bad as I've seen in many a year.
You're scraping the barrel to find positives from that. I like to think I'm an optimist (happy clapper to some) but Saturday was awful. It's only one game, though. Onto the next one..
You're complaining, so you must think the club is doing something wrong. Worst performance for many a year? Give over. It's only 18 months since Lee Johnson was in charge and we recorded a record losing run. Last season a much better team conceded 5 against forest and 4 against Fulham at home.
To be fair though, that Forest game was one of the most bizarre matches I've ever been to. Forest were abysmal. Crossed the halfway line three times in the first half, scored three goals.
I agree, but a scoreline is a scoreline mate, and we conceded 5 goals. Saturdays wasn't the greatest performance or result, but it wasn't the worst for many a year, I'm sure you'll agree. Some people just getting carried away with their own frustrations as per.
I was away in a spa hotel for my 10th wedding anniversary, so very luckily I didn't get to watch it! I've heard it wasn't good though, but we're very unlikely to be that rubbish all season. I'm definitely not getting worked up yet.
