But if I was here to watch a team who NEVER pIy poorly then I'd be supporting a tea! Who are yet to be invented. Learn from our mistakes, head down and prepare for the next game.
Thanks for that assessment but I'll stick to my OPINION that we had a bad day at the office and will learn from it
I do not agree that was poor. Reading were a well organised team with some fast/skillful players. We tried our best but weren't good enough. Don't think Hecky will be happy with either of their goals, but we put up more of a fight than we usually do when the opposition go down to 10 men. We could have nicked a draw. Never mind.
Reading looked decent and until the sending off I thought we might get a good hiding, the lad who was sent off caused us all kinds of trouble. We showed plenty of effort, but not enough guile to win. That said we had a few half chances from crosses and hit the bar at 0-0. First time I've seen us bossed in the middle. Love SSW to bits but I wonder if Watkins might have given us more. No biggy, 5 wins from 8 is a great start.
We lost at home today to a side we were expected to beat. Newcastle lost at home today to a side they were expected to beat. **** happens. 8 games in we have the same points as Newcastle. That'll do for me.
We were beaten today by a better side on the day. They completely bossed the first half and gave us a bit of a lesson. If they had played the whole game with 11 men and kept up that domination we could have been looking at 4 or 5. But we gave it a bloody good go in the second half, but just ran out of ideas. I can't fault them, they gave it their all, but we just got done on the day by a better side. It won't be the last time it happens. Came out thinking that we will play a lot worse than that and win, just one of those days. Never mind. We move on.
I think first 25 mins they played us off the park and McLeary was outstanding, not helped by White's injury. We got frustrated and didn't do the basics. When McLeary stupidly got sent off it changed the game, but whilst we created plenty of chances, especially from crosses, we didn't take advantage of enough of them. We'll play like that and win this season Look at it this way, against Preston last week they were all over us until Armstrong scored. We perhaps didn't deserve to win that one, but we were unlucky to lose today. It happens; at least it will keep feet on the floor
