Yes, I worked with some of them for 40 years. Some were better than others admittedly but they are mostly completely deluded. Not sure what their arrogance is based on either. I should be old enough to rise above enjoying their demise but I just can’t help myself. Wembley 23 didn’t help to be fair….

Very unfair on the staff who work there who would have been relying on that money to pay bills, mortgages etc. Find it hard to have sympathy for the supporters though!!!

A mate of mine is a Wednesday supporter and he is thoroughly pee'd off, but he is quite pragmatic and I agree with him that this could be a catalyst for better times in the near future, short term pain leading to long term gain, even if they went into administration, Sheffield Wednesday would be bought and whether we like it or not they are a fairly big club and are far more likely to achieve relative success. B@£T@RDS!!!!

They would but it's a long road away.

They don't own the stadium, the club is millions and millions in debt etc.

They are having to sell one of their academy rising stars (younger brother of Bailey Cadamartari) in order to raise funds to pay staff wages.

Bottom line, and similar to many clubs in future there will have to be some sort of reset. Its as simple as that. If Wednesday went bust completely I wouldn't actually be happy. Very old club, loyal fans and I don't like history to go bust. In the short term though they need the book throwing at them. Punishment should be really severe.

Chansiri owns the club and the stadium. By imo. default to escape punishments.

Chansiri headed up a Thai consortium which bought Wednesday from Milan Mandaric in January 2015, but his time in charge of the club has seen a number of financial challenges. In July 2019, Wednesday sold their Hillsborough stadium to Chansiri for about £60m in ensure they did not breach spending rules.

In effect buying it from himself as the largest investor.

So selling it, lock, stock and barrel is entirely in his hands. Radio Sheffield reporter. although naming a Florida based consortium, as making bids. Reckons they are miles away.

Chansiri owns the ground and whoever buys the loss making Club off him has to pay rent for the use of the ground unless he agrees to sell the ground. A bit like the Crynes and PMG when Patrick sold up.

Is it inevitable that they are heading towards administration?

The thing that gets me is those thick ***** supporters actually don't seem to understand that they've spent way beyond their means and they just want a new owner who will spend and spend and spend. A massive ******* reality check is needed for a lot supporters. Administration on the way?

Wasn't gonna post but here goes.

I've heard and live by someone well in with the club...

They have had a few interests from buyers (as expected).

One of the buyers negotiated with chansiri and pulled out for the following reasons...

    • Asking price too much
    • Debts
    • Even if bought, theirs too much work to be done, ground, facilities etc.
    • It would take 100s of millions not including the playing field to take the club forward, and that's not a guarantee without any success.
Apparently the negotiator stated these above.
