Has anyone tried to leave them? They don't make it easy. And it's not about the inducements they offer.
What's not easy about telling them you are leaving? I did it last year. After accepting my request to leave 3 days later the got in touch and offered me a new deal to stay and gave me BT Sports for a year free of charge. I decided to stay.
I was under contract wi em and had 7 months left when i split from my ex. So i got it moved to where i am now. And they have started my Contract all over again!!!
Some years back [broadband only], and they still spam me now, but be forceful and they'll cancel. (I think it's harder to actually cancel Sky, but I've not been through that personally)
My problem is they tried to bribe me to stay and then ignored any attempt by me to contact them. They assumed I was staying and continued billing me even after I had disconnected their router and TiVo box.
I just tell them I've moving abroad, and I'll happily continue to pay if they can provide a service there.
No Coexist. I did leave and had arranged to have Sky install a dish. I was on my termination period. They could not have stopped me leaving. So they threw sweeteners in my direction to get me to cancel my Sky installation and remain with them.
I moved to a house in which they couldn't provide the service and ended up having to pay the rest of the contract. It was in the small print. I had just assumed thy would have to cancel the contract. Never going back to them again
My Grandad signed up with them way back in the 90s. He passed away in '99 and my grandma kept the service. A few years ago she showed my the bill, she was being charged £90 a month for phone, internet and TV, and this was without any premium channels like Sky Sports. I phoned up on her behalf and they immediately offered to cut the bill to around £30 when I told them to cancel. When I said they'd been fleecing a pensioner for the best part of a decade they said it was the customer's responsibility to get the best price. Signed her up to TalkTalk for £20 a month. They wouldn't stop sending marketing letters, even after a couple of phone calls, so I had to write a formal letter of complaint. Pain in the arse of a company.
