Come across as an arrogant set to me. 'Northern thug' Hourihane gets a slating whilst simultaneously defending 'GMac' McCleary for his petulant shove. Not a lot about the actual match is there just the usual complaints about the referee.

They thought the red was harsh? Strange I thought they should have been down to 9 with that stamp and probley even less with the constant time wasting. And the soft southern bastars constantly fakeing injury.

Apparently that was one of Al Habsi's better days. Well I'd hate to see one of his poorer ones cos he is by quite some distance the worst keeper I can remember ever seeing.

The lad Swift was top drawer though.

It's just like whats been posted on here really we all have a bit of a biased view, not really sure how shouting at someone is worth a push or a yellow card as they claim but it's only opinions. Our team would still knock the crap out of em in a fight thought ;)

They've got cheek highlighting "time-wasting" after the keeper holding the ball for about 12 seconds every time!

Someone called Scowen a pansy HAHA. I'd like to see them try starting with R Josh. Gunter tried pushing him over after Hourihane went down. He stood his ground and Gunter crapped his pants.

Yeh the guy who brought up the Blackett yellow card which apparently our fans got him. Well, I'd go completely the opposite way and ask how on earth Gunter and the keeper never got yellows too. Must have wasted a good 15 minutes of the game between them 3.

The only decent thing he did was the save at the end. He was terrible allday upto that. The save from Armstrong I think it was, from about 25 yards, any half decent 14/15 year old keeper could have caught, he parried it away for a corner. It was literally laughable.

How can they possibly say it was a "harsh red", he pushed a player in the chest - do they not know what the rules are?
It baffled me that they actually applauded him off the field - if that had been the other way around, 2 up and cruising the game I'd have been furious to have given them a way back into the game.

Didn't Davies get booked for time-wasting.. Preston was it or Wolves..?

Barnsley fans are as selective in their opinions as the rest...

Preston. The point is DAVIES GOT BOOKED for wasting time in the last 10 minutes, their keeper who wasted time over THE LAST HOUR of the game didn't.

The first time I noticed him time wasting was in the 13th minute. The 13th chuffing minute

Thank you for explaining the point to me.... But the point acutely was about how fans see others, and not themselves..

The whole reading team time wasted. What about when they made a sub the lad saw his name come so decided to start sprinting over to the right wing. The ref then pulled him on it and he made his way off slowly. The whole team had been told to do it at half time.

They don't need to be told to do it, they'll just do it by default. Because it pays. Refs never take action against time wasting, and the full amount of time wasted is never added on at the end. So why would players not do it, when they have something to protect?

Spider's dead right - our lads did it at Preston, and I'd imagine most of our fans would have encouraged it. You do what you need to get the win.Maybe Reading were more blatant (I think they were), but they'll do what they can get away with.

There are relatively simple steps that can be taken to eradicate this type of gamesmanship for good. If Al-Habsi had been booked before half time (which would have been warranted), he would have a deterrent from doing it again. The real test would then be if the ref would send him off for repeating it later, which to my knowledge has never happened. First time it does, people will re-think their actions.

Alternatively, have the 4th official keep the time and properly measure the time wasted, and then add it on at the end. There's no way the cumulative total of Reading's time wasting, substitutions and our goal was 5 mins, just as I expect Preston would have benefited from more than 5 mins the week before if added up properly.

Only way to stop behavior that irritates fans is to create a deterrent. Same reason I'd hand out 5 match bans to anyone shown to dive on video evidence.
