Dont get me wrong Palace are full value for their lead and look like they could get more, but once again VAR is making a mockery of the game.. and has i say thay UTD pull one back lol
Palace deserved the win but those VAR decisions were farcical. How many pens are gonna be retaken if that counts as the keeper being off his line? It was a couple of centimetres at most. And the handball decision to give the pen was also ridiculous. Well done palace though, man u looked woeful.
Shouldn't have been a penalty for the handball. Justice was done with the save from the cocky arrogant effort and then it should never have been allowed to be taken again. Sometimes Man United don't get a good ref.
It could be. But without VAR they wouldn't have been able to freeze frame the moment he kicked the ball and deem De gea to be at fault by being ever so slightly off his line. If this is the rule I can imagine most saved pens will be retaken. However it will probably be applied inconsistently. I'm a fan of VAR if used properly. When there has been a clear error made by the ref. But I think they are massively over complicating it. It was same with the offisides last year.
I was thinking more of the handball that led to it.. Its the rule that is wrong, Same with Mads handball today, never a hand striking the ball which is how the rule used to be read. Not a Man u fan by the way in case your wondering.
Is the rule if your hand/arm is in a unnatural position or moves towards the ball? If it is I think it was just poor judgement by the refs, because there was no way he could get his hand out of the way.
Who knows? I dont think either the Mads handball or the United one was intentional. But hearing Gary Neville whine about the United one was good value. Booting Andy Liddell in the stomach is clearly a distant memory..
to be fair if you ever get the chance to ask him he admits he took liddle out at knee height and fully expected a pen to be given
To be fair to Neville he's not often biased. And that pen not being given meant we got to enjoy a victory at home in the replay. What a match that was.
I still would have loved to have rubbed their noses in it at Old Trafford after being beaten in the league there. Their fans were so full of it.
Oh I know, I've heard him admit it. It just discredits any claim that he has for a United penalty after that. Theyve had their fair share too. Just screams pot kettle black.
